Pilates is an exercise modality that focuses on strong core, flexibility, balance, proper alignment, joint mobility, axial elongation, focused breathing and mental concentration. Flat abs, strong back, toned buttocks/thighs and firm arms are all results of those principles.
The Reformer is the centerpiece of Pilates equipment. It uses spring tension to create a unique and varied workout that allows you to feel the effects of the pilates exercises on your body much sooner. You will feel not only your core, but the internal pressure to elongate the spine, joints and muscles. This will in turn lead to enhanced flexibility and greater strength. The Reformer is also a great apparatus to use for rebuilding or balancing your musculature after an injury and is often used as a rehab tool. |
